Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 500 to 200 BCE. A fabulous ensemble of 51 greenstone beads boasting hues of pistachio, celadon, seafoam, and cream with gray, tan, and taupe inclusions, all strung on a modern strand with a lobster claw clasp to be wearable. Displaying a diverse array of forms, the beads present in barrel, spherical, discoid, tubular, and ovoid shapes and are arranged to graduate toward the center. Though all beads are drilled laterally, 5 ovoid and 2 tubular beads display an extra set of perforations on one side. A stunning piece, sure to make all onlookers green with envy!
