Greece, Late Classic to Early Hellenistic Period, ca. 5th to 3rd century CE. A lovely, mold-made terracotta stand with a square foot displaying the relief of a winged figure, perhaps an Erote or a victory, on one side. Presenting an hourglass-form body with wide hips, supple breasts, and a protruding belly, the ancient figure stands contrapposto with legs crossed at the shins, right hand placed on left shoulder, left arm bent at the elbow, and head tilted to their left. A russet-hued glaze envelops the piece, boasting a lustrous, silvery iridescence. Size: 2.5" W x 5" H (6.4 cm x 12.7 cm); 6.2" H (15.7 cm) on included custom stand.
This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
