Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, ca. 100 to 700 CE. A stunning necklace composed of 22 ancient, cylindrical amethyst beads in brilliant hues of violet, lavender, and plum. The amethyst beads exhibit a lustrous sheen resulting from a meticulous polishing process and imbue the necklace with an elegant presentation. Interspersed between the amethyst beads are 23 modern gold-plated spacer beads, the largest of which rests in the middle of the composition as the central pendant. Capped with a modern gold-plated loop and lobster clasp combo, this is a fabulous and wearable necklace perfect for any occasion! Size (necklace): 25" L (63.5 cm); size of largest bead (amethyst): 1" L x 0.6" W (2.5 cm x 1.5 cm).
