Jules Bernard Dahlager (American, 1884-1952). "In the Copper River Valley" oil on board, 1935. Signed and dated "Jules 35" on lower left. An atmospheric painting of the Alaskan landscape by Jules Dahlager who captured scenes while painting in Cordova and Ketchikan, Alaska from about the year 1920 until his passing in 1952. Dahlager worked alongside artists Sydney Laurence, Eustace, Ziegler, and Ted Lambert to depict the "untouched" lands of America's Pacific Northwest; however, Dahlager's ability to blend his painterly technique with a brilliant palette of harmonious hues and expertly executed impasto passages set his oeuvre apart. Beautifully framed, "In the Copper Valley" is among Dahlager's most poignant personal responses to Alaska's terrain. Size: 11.5" L x 8.5" W (29.2 cm x 21.6 cm); 15.5" L x 12.5" W (39.4 cm x 31.8 cm) framed
