European or American, ca. late 19th to early 20th century. A mesmerizing etching of a wide variety of fruits - clusters of grapes, rasberries, peaches, pears, cherries, and more - with fluttering butterflies and birds enjoying their sweet nectar. The composition is rendered with a keen attention to line as well as shading effects. Look closely at the creatures' wings, the drupelets of the rasberries, and the leaf veins to appreciate the artist's immense attention to detail. In addition, this skillfully executed drawing is set in a beautifully carved wooden frame embellished with a marvelous interior border of raised flourishes. Size of drawing: 14.75" W x 12.375" H (37.5 cm x 31.4 cm) Size of frame: 23.25" W x 20.625" H (59.1 cm x 52.4 cm)
