American artist Andy Dagosta was best known for his western paintings and illustrations. As a child growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, he adored watching movies, particularly westerns. Following his service in the 12th Air Force during WWII, he moved to California and studied at the Hollywood Art Center. Upon completion of his program, he established an art studio in Pasadena. Dagosta would continue to have a passion for the American West and became a co-founder of The American Indian and Cowboy Artists.
