Albert Starling (British, 1858-1913), oil on board, ca. late 19th century CE. Signed in red on the lower right. A beautiful wooded landscape painting delineated with Albert Starling's delicate, Impressionist touch. The golden yellow leaves of the trees glisten in the sunlight as summer transitions to winter, the days grow shorter, and the air temperature cools. Set in the original antique gilded wood frame that is intricately carved with festoons of flowers. Size: 16" W x 12" H (40.6 cm x 30.5 cm); 20.5" W x 16.875" H (52.1 cm x 42.9 cm) including frame
On the verso are old collection labels, one written in French, the other in English. The English one reads, "Albert Starling, English painter of genre, marine scenes and portraits. Displayed at the Royal Academy and the Museum of Liverpool. Painted around 1878." The French label generally translates, "Albert Starling: painter of genre, marine scenes, and portraits. From Sutton, active in 19th and 20th century, he exhibited in London, notably at the Royal Academy and at Suffolk Street in 1878. Works are in the Museum of Liverpool and other countries. Work listed in E. Benezit (1954); Thieme-Becker Biographical Dictionary of Artists."

Condition
Painting is in excellent condition. Expected tears/losses to gallery paper on verso. Informative labels on verso have darkened and show slight losses to edges, but the text is still legible. The frame is very well preserved.
