North America, Montana, Powder River, Hell Creek Formation, Late Cretaceous Period, 70 to 66 million years ago. Wow! A nearly perfect cervical centrum vertebrae bone from the neck of the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur, the most famous of these prehistoric creatures! The centrum is well preserved with little wear. The top and bottom faces are slightly concave, and a cavity to either side of the canal area indicates that this belonged to a T-rex, likely a juvenile or young adult. One of the best vertebrae from this type of dinosaur we have ever seen! As if this dinosaur needed introduction, T-Rex was a carnivore at nearly 15 feet tall and lived in what is now the western part of the United States. A rare opportunity to collect a fabulous and iconic piece from this prehistoric lizard king! Size: 6" W x 4.5" H (15.2 cm x 11.4 cm)
