**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. A sumptuous example of a fossilized megalodon tooth boasting heavily polished surfaces that imbue it with a fantastic luster. The tapered enamel features gray and beige hues surrounding an inner matrix section of dark gray and brown colors, and several of the peripheral serrations are still tactile. The V-shaped bourlette bears several vertical striations as a result of fossilization, and the obverse of the root is similarly polished to showcase its rich chocolate and caramel hues. The verso of the tooth is unpolished to display the tooth's natural coloration. Size: 3.34" W x 4.91" H (8.5 cm x 12.5 cm)
