Ancient Seas, North America, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years old. A fine example of a fossilized tooth from one of the ancient seas' most ferocious hunters: the megalodon. The triangular enamel features dozens of vertical striations, a relatively matte coloration that is unpolished, and several tactile serrations along the edges. The V-shaped bourlette exhibits a dark brown hue with even more vertical striations, and the forked root features a few petite bore holes from ancient clams. Size: 3.58" W x 4.83" H (9.1 cm x 12.3 cm)
