**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago; Latin America, Mexico, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A stunning pendant comprised of a fossilized megalodon tooth and a sterling silver finding with citrine stones. This tooth is carved and polished in modern times with a human face in relief and invokes the ancient mythology of human-shark monsters. Megalodons are a pre-historic shark that died out long before humans evolved, however, ancient cultures occasionally discovered these fossilized teeth far from the ocean which fueling shark deities and other monster lore. The sterling silver finding contains two polished citrine stones, a dark garnet, and applied copper spirals. All is made wearable with a modern cord with a silver-plated lobster clasp to make this a truly unique pendant! Size of pendant: 3" L x 2" W (7.6 cm x 5.1 cm); cord length: 21" L (53.3 cm)
