Ancient Seas, Morocco, Ordovician period, 488 to 443 million years ago. A massive stone matrix featuring fossilized brittle starfish with their tentacle arms spread out from their bodies. There are over a dozen spindly brittle starfish and two asteroida starfish, identified by their thicker, shorter arms. The large matrix is professionally prepared with each fossil's outline slightly carved into the stone. Each fossil is painted with red pigments to highlight their exquisite forms from the rest of the gray stone. These are extremely rare and display fabulous details!
