Ancient Seas, Indonesia, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years old. A beautiful megalodon tooth that has undergone the process of fossilization. The tapered enamel features several tactile serrations, a few vertical striations, and highly polished surfaces that reveal the burnt umber and caramel hues of the interior enamel matrix. The slender bourlette features tan hues as well as several vertical striations, and the sandy root has several shallow perforations formed by boring clams. The tooth's unpolished verso showcases the natural coloration of the enamel, bourlette, and root. Size: 3.14" W x 4.76" H (8 cm x 12.1 cm)
