- Lot Description
Ancient Seas, North America, Eastern United States, South Carolina, Paleocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 66 to 2.6 million years ago. This is a gorgeous bracelet made of sterling silver and fossilized shark teeth! The 9 teeth are set in open-backed bezels that are connected by rings. Each tooth has a nice lustrous enamel and matte root, and a few retain some of their minute serrated edges! The bracelet is wearable with a toggle clasp that allows for adjustable sizing. The slightly curved profile of the teeth suggests a species of prehistoric Carcharocles angustidens (relative to Megalodon) or Mako sharks! Size of bracelet: 7.9" L (20.1 cm); average tooth: 0.65" L x 0.75" W (1.7 cm x 1.9 cm); silver quality: 92%; weight: 20.6 grams
