Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A pair of hand-built terracotta flat figures, both depicting standing females with clearly delineated wombs and genitalia, attenuated arms, rounded shoulders, one with shoulder pellets, the other with armbands, and both with beaded pectorals. Their serene visages present with delicate features, and the taller figure dons an ample headband, while the more petite female has a central crest over her long coiffure. A lovely pair from this ancient West Mexican culture! Size of taller figure: 8.75" H (22.2 cm) Size of smaller figure: 6.5" H (16.5 cm)
