Western Europe, France, Luneville, ca. mid-18th to early 19th century CE. A fabulous ensemble of 8 porcelain dishes by Luneville pottery, 7 of circular form and 1 displaying a rectangular shape, all boasting decorative, undulating peripheries, and embellished with floral and chinoiserie elements in hues of fuchsia, shamrock green, jasmine, cornflower blue, pink, and black on a white ground. Two of the plates showcase gorgeous floral motifs, while the remaining 6 feature Chinese imagery, such as a seated male among flowers pointing right, a man walking and smoking a pipe, an archer, an exotic bird in front of a pagoda, and a pair of vibrantly colored birds facing one another. Condition
Plate with archer has stable hairline fissure. All have nicks to peripheries and pitting on interiors. Otherwise, intact and excellent with lovely remaining pigments and details.
