Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Late Dynastic Period, 12th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1981 to 332 BCE. A collection of 3 ancient weights that were probably used when measuring deben-kedet units, made from dark gray and black hardstones. Two are cuboid with rounded corners, and the dome shaped one has a flattened base. The smallest weight weighs 108.3 grams (3.8 oz), the larger cuboid is 178.3 grams (6.29 oz), and the domed cylindrical stone is 170.8 grams (6 oz). Size of black weight: 1.5" Diameter x 2" H (3.8 cm x 5.1 cm)
