Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1077 BCE. A mold-formed faience scarab of petite size mounted on a modern 14K gold ring setting. The topside of the scarab features a folded wing carapace, sinuous legs, and a slender head, and shown on the underside are several hieroglyphic symbols including a heart-and-windpipe, a sun disk, and a right-facing crocodile. A setting wire attached above the gold ring shank is fed through the scarab's body to enable the wearability of this intriguing accessory. Size (ring): 0.7" W x 1.05" H (1.8 cm x 2.7 cm); (scarab): 0.5" L x 0.25" W (1.3 cm x 0.6 cm); quality of gold: 14K; total weight: 3.3 grams; US ring size 5.25

Condition
Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Faience scarab is ancient and 14K gold ring and wire setting are modern. Small chips to scarab, fading to most original glaze, and softening to some finer details. Very attractive! Impressed inside the ring shank beneath the wire setting is "14K."
