Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A cast leaded-bronze figure of Osiris, the god of the underworld, who stands in mummiform with fused legs and feet. The deity holds a heka scepter and flagellum ("nekhakh" in ancient Egyptian) in hands crossed atop his chest that intersect below his plaited false beard. His petite face features bulging almond-shaped eyes, a slender nose, and rounded cheeks, all beneath an Atef crown bearing a pair of ostrich feathers and a frontal royal uraeus. Thick layers of green and brown patina cover this lovely figure from ancient Egypt! Size: 1.06" W x 3.85" H (2.7 cm x 9.8 cm); 4" H (10.2 cm) on included custom stand.
