Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti of slender form standing in mummiform atop an integral plinth with a dorsal pillar on the verso. The figure holds a pick and hoe in hands crossed atop the abdomen while a minimalist seed bag is draped atop the left shoulder. Almond eyes, a compressed nose, rounded cheeks, and a false beard comprise the countenance, and the head is framed with the lappets of the tripartite wig. Lustrous blue glaze envelops the entire figure in enticing color. Size: 1.125" W x 3.9" H (2.9 cm x 9.9 cm)
