Egypt, New Kingdom, 19th-20th Dynasty, ca. 1292 to 1077 BCE. A significant section of a stone offering prayer stela, finely incised and carved in sunk relief with seven registers of hieroglyphic text on cream-colored sandstone, retaining traces of original pigment. The inscription is predominantly autobiographical, with the deceased listing virtuous deeds performed during their life, likely as a justification for receiving offerings in the afterlife. A partial translation is provided below. The style of the hieroglyphs suggests a later New Kingdom influence, such as from the 19th or 20th Dynasty, as evidenced by certain phrases used.
