Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A lovely ensemble of 3 mold-formed pendants, all nearly identical in form and depicting the dwarf deity Bes. Each of the ancient figures stands nude with bowed legs and hands held to his hips. Their compressed faces feature sunken eyes and perky, tab-shaped ears beneath billowing feathered caps. A perforated suspension loop is situated behind the head of all 3. All of the pendants are enveloped in a lustrous glaze in a vibrant hue of azure and embellished with decorative green and yellow dots. Size (all the same): 1.4" L x 0.6" W (3.6 cm x 1.5 cm)
