North Africa, Morocco, Fez (Fes) region, ca. early 20th century CE. The bowl has a deep rounded basin with a flattened rim supported by a ring foot. The exterior is a warm beige-tan color, that is overpainted on the interior basin. The geometric motif is a 4-pointed black rosette shape, with surrounded abstract foliate and linear pattering. The interior lip is painted with thin bands in red, blue, ochre, black, and white. Mokhfias are used for serving couscous and are pierced through the foot for displaying on a wall when not in use. Size: 14.125" W x 3.8" H (35.9 cm x 9.7 cm)
