Native American, Canada or Alaska, Inuit, ca. 1920's CE. A spectacular totem, hand-carved from the tusk of a walrus to depict the image of several zoomorphic creatures stacked atop one another. The lowest creature is a beaver who sits upon a bulbous rock with a frog on its chest. Above the beaver is a pair of birds with one upside-down, allowing them to face one another and touch beaks. Another frog that presents a spotted back and is facing downwards is shown above the bird. The lovely totem is then capped with an anthropomorphic visage on an ovoid shape. Size: 2.875" W x 9.25" H (7.3 cm x 23.5 cm)
