Chris Derubeis (American, b. 1978). "Mini Burst Blue" (2015); "Mini Burst Green" (2016); "Mini Burst Purple" (2015); "Mini Burst Red" (2015) - all four works are mixed media on aluminum with air-brush painting and hand-ground surfaces, and all four are hand-signed in pigment on the lower right. A mesmerizing ensemble of four paintings by Chris Derubeis, a contemporary American artist who has been dubbed "The Father of Conceptual Movement" and marries metal sculpture and painting to create each celestial abstraction. "Each work is a unique original as DeRubeis uses structures and waves of light to build weightless, diaphanous forms. Colors flow seamlessly from one hue to the next, while the transparency of his layers of paint creates the illusion of incredible depth." (artist's website) A captivating ensemble with each "Mini Burst" composition set in museum-quality framing in such a way that it appears to float in the center like a celestial body. Please note: Each piece in this suite is a unique mixed-media work produced on hand ground aluminum, hand painted with a combination of urethane, acrylic, and Derubeis' unique blend of chemicals, and then covered with high-gloss urethane clear coating.
