Ancient Central Europe, Danube River Basin, Hallstatt culture, Late Bronze Age, ca. 1400 to 1100 BCE. A well-preserved example of a cast-bronze spear tip featuring a petaloid blade head, a thick midrib that tapers to a point, and a conical socketing shaft bearing a trio of protruding ringlets. Both blade faces are incised with a pair of parallel striations that outline the overall profile, and the entire weapon has developed smooth layers of green patina in light and dark hues. Size: 6.2" L x 1.75" W (15.7 cm x 4.4 cm); 5.875" H (14.9 cm) on included custom stand.

Minor nicks to blade edge, midrib, and socketing shaft, with encrustations over areas of incised outlining along blade faces as well as socketing shaft, otherwise intact and choice. Fabulous green patina and smooth texture across most surfaces.
