Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A delightful pottery vessel exhibiting a wide hip, a rounded shoulder, a stirrup handle, and a tubular spout, all sitting upon a narrow, convex base. Enveloped in a rich black glaze, the charming vessel is adorned with relief decoration of 4 trios of ovoid fruits hanging from vines that cascade down the sides and meet at the top. A petite monkey additionally embellishes the vessel, sitting where the spout meets the handle. Size: 6.5" Diameter x 10.5" H (16.5 cm x 26.7 cm)
