The coin is a medium leaded-bronze AE type. Obverse: Vine leaf on tendril with a Paleo-Hebrew inscription likely reading, "For the Freedom of Jerusalem." Reverse: Palm tree with seven branches, resembling a temple menorah, with the inscription "Shim'on," referring to Bar Kokhba's given name. Size of pendant: 1.3" L x 0.9" W (3.3 cm x 2.3 cm); chain length: 24" (61 cm); gold quality: 58.6%-59% (equivalent to 14K+); total weight (pendant + chain): 16.7 grams
