Southern Europe, Italy, Baroque to Victorian periods, ca. early 17th to 19th century CE. A composite suit of 17th C. steel armor with later 19th C. additions including an iron and copper chainmail shirt, cuisses, poleyns with fan plates, greaves, and articulated sabatons. The vambraces are etched with vertical panels of foliate and linear motifs, and the gauntlets bear well-articulated fingers and pierced knuckles. The breast plate is stamped with two touch marks on the front and is secured to the back plate with rivets and leather straps. The two tassets above the leg components are each comprised of five lames lined with brass rivets. Custom stuffed display body and tiered wooden stand included. Size: 12.5" W (across chest) x 71" H (31.8 cm x 180.3 cm); 84" H (213.4 cm) on included custom stand.
