An elegant Art Nouveau sterling silver over porcelain vase presenting a curvaceous form adorned with a finely rendered botanical motif. Leaves and raspberries grace the surface in low to high relief, and a pair of vine-like tendrils form two handles. Art Nouveau pieces like this graced luxurious residences in Europe and America from the early 19th century until the beginning of World War I, transforming these into artistic surroundings. Condition
The rim was intentionally pierced with a pair of perforations, one at the front and one at the back. Stamped "9514" on the bottom. Some craquelure to the porcelain interior of the vessel. Normal wear to the surface commensurate with age. Silver has developed an attractive patina over the years.
