Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE; Western Europe, Italy, Neoclassical, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A high-quality 72.29% to 73.61% gold (equivalent to 17K+) Neoclassical ring inlaid with an ancient Roman Imperial era jasper intaglio, engraved featuring classical Greco-Roman and Egyptian architecture: a hippodrome with an obelisk at the center - the Circus Maximus. This seal ring may have been acquired by someone on their "Grand Tour" to show off their travels as both a signifier of wealth and cultural sophistication. The ring is in great condition and has a "D" shaped band. Size of face: 0.97" L x 0.8" W (2.5 cm x 2 cm); band opening: 0.7" Diameter (1.8 cm); approximate US ring size: 6; gold quality: 72.29% to 73.61% (equivalent to 17K+); weight: 5.7 grams

Wear commensurate with age and use. Nicks and abrasions to gold, and possible old repair / resizing to band. Intaglio jasper is intact, overall great condition. Due to band shape, this band did not accurately fit the ring sizer. Wearable!
