Central Europe, Tumulus / Hallstatt culture, Bronze Age, ca. 1300 to 800 BCE. A rare, matched pair of bronze ornamental finger or hair rings with elegant spirals worn by nobility as prestige and luxury jewelry. Both are made from a strip of bronze wire, each terminal spiral made by tightly rotating the wire from the center. Absolute finest preservation of form and patina! What is especially rare beyond the fact they are an original matched set, is their size and perfect condition with no breakage or missing portions. Ornamentation like these typically would have been worn by members of the elite class - either warriors, rulers, or high-caste women. The spiral design of these items was remarkably persistent, appearing throughout Europe, a style that dates to the Bronze Age. Size: 3.25" L x 1.5" W (8.3 cm x 3.8 cm)
