Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), Mogollon, ca. 1225 to 1300 CE. An attractive terracotta bowl of hemispherical form with a round yet stable base and thick walls that gently curve inwards to an annular rim. Skillfully hand-painted, the elegant dish boasts black and white decoration atop bare terracotta, featuring an abstract design of zigzag, geometric, and curvilinear motifs on the interior, as well as a horizontal band of an abstract pattern along the exterior walls.
