Native American, Southwestern United States, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona, Anasazi / Ancestral Puebloan, ca. 1050 to 1225 CE. A lovely pottery mug of utilitarian form that was formed via the coil-and-scrape technique. Covered in white slip and decorated with black pigment, the vessel is adorned with repeating registers of serrated triangles and linear motifs along with lengthy triangles decorating the handle. The rim of the mug is embellished with a dense ladder-style motif that creates an interesting presentation. Size: 3.875" W x 3.3" H (9.8 cm x 8.4 cm)

Condition
Minor abrasions to handle, rim, body, and base, with a few stable hairline fissures within basin, and light fading to areas of pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Great remains of black pigment throughout.
