East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A lovely ensemble of eight mold-formed pottery tomb attendants, all shown standing in floor-length robes that cascade down their slender figures and capped with prominent headdresses. Likely cast from the same mold, 4 of the figures hold their right arms to their stomachs and left arms at their waists. Another 2 figures also hold their right arms to their bellies, while their right arms instead fall to their sides. The remaining pair are the smallest of the group and are posed differently: one with both hands folded at their chest and the other with right arm raised and left to their side as their billowing robes blow in the wind. Enveloped in light hues of salmon pink with liberal remains of grey and cream pigments, all of the figures display minimalistic visages. Size (of largest): 2.25" W x 9" H (5.7 cm x 22.9 cm)

Head of second smallest reattached with break lines visible. Some losses to feet and headdresses of figures. Nicks, chips, abrasions, and softening of detail throughout, all commensurate with age. Otherwise, all are nice with liberal remains of pigment and light earthen deposits.
