Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 10th to 11th century CE. A fine collection of forged-iron knife blades from the ancient Viking. Four of the blades feature single-edged designs with stocky tangs and curved, pointed tips. Two larger blades have rivets along their handles for attaching handle panels as well as petite suspension rings slotted through slender perforations. The largest knife exhibits a scalpel-form blade as well as pair of petite rivets along the handle. All blades are enveloped with fine caramel-brown iron patina that is rather attractive. Size of largest: 6.6" L x 0.6" W (16.8 cm x 1.5 cm)
