Native American, Midwestern to Southern United States, Archaic to Woodland, ca. 1000 BCE to 1000 CE. This is a fine collection of 7 projectile points, each hand-knapped from chert. The points come primarily from the Midwest of the United States, and each have their state of origin labeled on the surface. The largest is a Dickson Point and is associated with the Havana Hopewell culture that lived in the Midwest from 200 BCE to 400 CE. The white point with exaggerated serrations is possibly a Kirk Serrated point. A great collection that demonstrates the various types of projectile points that arose via the knapping and flaking technique. Size (Dickson point): 4" L x 1.75" W (10.2 cm x 4.4 cm)
Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
