Three hand-colored French engravings from Mordant de Launay and Jean Claude Michel's "Herbier General de L'Amateur" (Paris, 1810-1827) and two hand-colored British engravings from Robert Sweet's "Geraniaceae" (London, 1820-1830) - each one etched on copper, printed, and hand colored. The three from "Herbier General de L'Amateur" present beautiful botanical specimens engraved by Barrois after drawings by Pancrace Bessa (French, 1772-1835). Those from "Geraniaceae" were engraved by S. Watts after the drawings of E.D. Smith (British, active 1823-1851) who depicted some 500 species of geraniums cultivated in gardens in Great Britain over the course of ten years. All were hand-colored and set in matching custom triple mats and frames under glass. Size: 15.375" L x 12.375" W (39.1 cm x 31.4 cm) framed
