Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran and Turkey, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A great ensemble of bronze weapons from the ancient Luristani people. First is a slender axe head of a right-angled form with a tall socketing shaft and a wedge-shaped blade. Next is a curved, double-sided axe head with one broad blade and one that slants down slightly from the socketing shaft. Third is a dark brown and green spear head with its socketing shaft reinforced with a lower peripheral ring. The largest weapon is a light green spear head with a petaloid blade and remains of two lateral loops along the socketing shaft. Thick layers of green and brown patina envelop each weapon in color. Size of largest (lighter spear head): 6.2" L x 1.1" W (15.7 cm x 2.8 cm)

Loss to one lateral loop and part of back socketing shaft hole on largest spear head as well as loss to section of socketing shaft of right-angle axe head. Small chips to blade of darker spear head. All pieces have encrustations and/or abrasions, with nicks to edges, and slight bending to overall forms. Great patina and earthen deposits throughout.
