Native American, United States, Missouri, Transitional Archaic Period, ca. 1st millennium CE. A fine set of 3 hand-knapped chert spear points from modern-day Missouri. First is a Burlington chert point found near Plattin in Jefferson County with a lengthy body, a pair of protruding fins, and a forked tang. Another Burlington chert point features a petaloid blade, gently convex faces, and a thick, rectangular tail. The largest point, knapped from Pitkin chert, is from Cape Girardeau County and is of the Archaic Cornernotch type. Size of largest (dark stone): 5.05" L x 1.8" W (12.8 cm x 4.6 cm)

Condition
Plattin tip has restoration to tip of one lateral fin, and Cape Girardeau County point has restoration to one tail point, one fin, and portion of lateral edge along lower body; petaloid point is intact and very good. Each piece has light abrasions and nicks commensurate with age and knapping process. Nice surface smoothness throughout. Plattin point and dark stone point have find site information handwritten on one side.
