Native American, United States, Archaic to Woodland Period, ca. 7500 BCE to 1200 CE (9500 BP 800 BP). A fine collection of 28 hand-knapped stone projectile points that display a nice variety of sizes and forms. The arrows present with triangular and pointed blades. Several have pronounced downward pointed fins, and others are angular in shape with no pronounced fins. The points are formed from creamy chert and quartz stones that present an array of colors. Some of the types of points included are Gary, Riverton / Robeson Constricted Stem, Williams, Guilford, Glendo, Brunswick, Robinson, Koster, Neches River, Edwards, Koens-Crispin, Moyock, Cobbs, Lost Lake, Wade, and Durst. The process for shaping these points involved hitting a harder stone against the surface to flake or knap these arrowheads into the desired form.
