Central Asia, Tibet or Nepal, ca. early to mid-20th century CE; China, Miao culture, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful collection of beads and pendants made of made of nickel-brass, enamel, bovine bone, coral, turquoise, glass, agate, and other stones. The beads have been strung as necklaces and could benefit from being restrung on more secure chains or rearranged into balanced pieces. The first is a double strand of a nickel chain and thread with a stylized lion pendant with articulated ears. Second is a lengthy chain with nickel bezels, opaque red enamel, and a turquoise central pendant. Third is a single chain and thread with a nickel dragon pendant. Fourth is an identical dragon pendant on a nickel chain. The fifth is a chain and a flower basket nickel pendent. Also included is a partial strand of beads and pendant and a pair of gold toned nickel brass spherical earrings inlaid with blue and red enamel. Size of necklace with dragon: 36" L (91.4 cm); dragon pendant: 2.5" L x 2" W (6.4 cm x 5.1 cm); earrings: 2.25" L x 1" W (5.7 cm x 2.5 cm)

Condition
Three of the necklaces are wearable as is, but the others need to be restrung. The double chain with the lion has a safety pin as the clasp. The partial necklace segment is on a fraying thread. Use and age expected surface wear, nicks and chips, and patina on metal areas. Earrings are not wearable as is. The clip on one is entirely missing and not working on the other. A jeweler could add studs to make wearable.
