Native American, Southwestern United Sates, Navajo and Zuni, ca. mid-20th century CE. A delightful collection of 9 vintage silver and nickel-brass jewelry with turquoise stones. All 5 bracelets are a cuff style with an opening for the wrist. Three are silver with twisted wires or openwork patterning. The largest is 93.6% silver with five wires that are welded together and engraved geometric patterning. One is 94.4% silver, with anthropomorphic figures, thunderbirds, and arrow motifs across the band, with a turquoise stone in the center. The other 87% silver band has etched motifs of arrows and whirling logs (swastika shaped symbols), and other geometric forms. The other two cuffs are comprised of nickel-brass with scrolling and geometric patterning. One has applied thunderbirds and deer with a turquoise in the center. The other is a pretty patterning with blue stones in the center. The large brooch is 92.95% silver with an infinity or figure 8-shape. The verso is initialed by the artist "AB" perhaps for Anna Begay a Navajo silversmith. The face is inlaid with teardrop and circular turquoise stones. The other brooch is 93.6% silver with small turquoise inlays and dangling silver pieces. The ring with arrows is 93.25% silver. The exquisite ring with the cluster of stones and granulated balls is 91.1% silver and signed on the on the interior band by “C & L MAHOOTY” for Chester Mahooty (1928-2004) a Zuni master silversmith. Infinity shaped brooch: pin articulates and clasp opens easily, old inventory number in pen on surface verso, and abrasions with nicks to stones, wearable. Diamond shaped brooch: clasp is very stiff and hard to open, but could be wearable, and dark toning on dangling pieces. Arrow ring: Minor bending to ring band, wearable. Mahooty ring: light signs of wear, great condition, maker mark is clear, wearable. Bracelets are all wearable and good condition, with some toning and use expected surface wear.
