Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Santa Fe, Navajo, ca. mid-20th to 21st century CE. This is a fine pair of necklaces made of turquoise, heishi shells, and spherical sterling silver beads. The first necklace was commissioned by Peyote Bird, a Santa Fe, New Mexico based company that specializes in handcrafted artisan jewelry from Native American and other international artists. The turquoise beads are cut into seed shapes and strung on a wire with a sterling silver chain and lobster clasp to adjust the length. The other necklace has a hook clasp, and the length is symmetrically strung with brown heishi beads, 5 turquoise nuggets, and 10 spherical silver beads dispersed along the center. Both necklaces are wearable and in fine condition.
