**Originally Listed At $650**
Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lulua (also Luluwa) peoples, ca. early 20th century CE. An interesting wooden figure that stands on two thick legs, with protruding genitalia below his long torso. His hands rest across his stomach and small leather pouches with feathers and sticks are tied to his upper arms with fiber cords. The stylized visage looks trancelike- with narrow almond shaped eyes, a very pointy nose, and thin mouth. A rectangular headdress projects off the top of his head. His impressive headdress and feather pouches may indicate a shamanic status. Size: 5" W x 16.5" H (12.7 cm x 41.9 cm); 17.5" H (44.4 cm) on included custom stand.
