South Asia, India, ca. early to mid 20th century. A handmade textile featuring some of the most elaborate hand-embroidery and mirror work in a patchwork composition. In addition, substantive and intricate embroidery imbues the textile with a plethora of colors - wine red, chocolate brown, olive green, sunburst orange, tawny beige, royal blue, rose, aqua, violet, and more - depicting abstract floral and geometric motifs amidst countless circular "mirror" and sequin elements. A stunning example mounted on black fabric for an attractive presentation! Size: 73.25" W x 47" H (186.1 cm x 119.4 cm); 76.5" W x 51.75" H (194.3 cm x 131.4 cm) including backing
