- Lot Description
Ancient Seas & North America, ca. 400 to 50 million years ago. A beautiful and wearable pair of modern sterling silver and copper bracelet cuffs inlaid with a turquoise stone and ammonite fossil. The ammonite fossil is prepared and polished then set into a copper bezel with a twist rope border. Three thick copper wires support the bezel and terminate at a wide opening for the wearer. The ammonite is a lovely honey brown with white suture patterns around the spiral that complement the warm copper. The other bracelet is a generous turquoise nugget, polished flat and set in a sawtooth bezel. The four silver wires also terminate at an opening, and the underside of the bezel is stamped as sterling. Size of silver cuff: 2.675" Diameter (6.8 cm); opening gap: 1.25" W (3.2 cm); turquoise stone: 1.25" L x 1" W (3.2 cm x 2.5 cm); silver quality: 94%; weight: 40.4 grams; size of copper cuff: 2.5" W (6.4 cm); opening gap: 1.35" W (3.4 cm); ammonite: 1.125" L x 0.8" W (2.9 cm x 2 cm)

#166970Stable fissures on ammonite and chips. Indentations and surface wear to copper cuff as expected with use. Turquoise is polished and very good. Silver cuff has areas of cleanable patina and toning. Signs of light use and surface wear. Both are wearable.Condition
