North American, United States, New York, Buffalo, ca. early 20th century CE. This is a vintage brass monocular microscope with 2 objective lenses, manufactured by Spencer Lens Company. The instrument is comprised of sturdy brass feet, a frame, and polished brass attachments. The frame features a body tube, a broad iron stage with a black finish, and articulating rings below that once contained the mirror. The tubular ocular lens rim is stamped "Carl Zeiss, Jena" for the German lens manufacturer. This is a handsome and aged piece that would be great project to restore or simply admire as is in an office or lab. Size: 6" L x 4.25" W x 12.25" H (15.2 cm x 10.8 cm x 31.1 cm)

Fair condition, nonfunctional, and missing some pieces, including mirrors, lenses, and knobs. Abrasions and losses to black finish and stage. Losses to lenses and mirrors. Some pieces are no longer adjustable. Nicks, abrasions, and indentations throughout. Mineral deposits and patina on the surface.
