- Lot Description
North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A handsome wood and iron half stock percussion rifle with brass inlays! The rifle has a octagonal steel barrel with a ramrod groove and brass ramrod guides on the underside with a brass tipped ramrod. The double trigger is enclosed in a brass guard and above the iron lock plate is etched with foliate motifs and a faint mark that partially reads "WARRANTED." Along the forestock and backstock are brass ornaments in crescents, fish, diamonds, and star shapes. A brass butt cap completes this fine rifle. The wood has developed a wonderful warm red patina, and this rifle would be a beautiful display piece! Size: 52.25" L x 4" W (132.7 cm x 10.2 cm); bore size: 0.4" W (1 cm)

#164764Mark on lock plate is faint and nearly indiscernible. Chip and loss to iron ramrod housing. Age and use expected surface wear and abrasions. Chips to wood around lock plate and backstock. Ramrod is stiff and does not easily slide out. Triggers are stiff but function. Hammer articulates. Gun has not been tested for firing functionality.Condition
