Europe / United States, ca. mid to late 1800s CE. A muzzleloading signal cannon composed of two separate iron pieces: the barrel and the wheeled carriage. The barrel features two knobs that fit into deep grooves on the carriage, allowing for secure placement and easy adjustment. A small touch hole or vent is present for igniting the charge, and the bore hole measures 1.2 inches in diameter (3 cm). Despite its compact size, this cannon is remarkably heavy due to its solid iron construction, making the attached handle a practical addition for maneuverability. These miniature cannons were commonly used for signaling, ceremonial purposes, or maritime applications. Size: 19.5" L x 9" W x 8.5" H (49.5 cm x 22.9 cm x 21.6 cm)
